J&K: Terrorists attack army post in Bandipora; IED explosion damages army vehicle in Baramulla

In yet another IED explosion, an Army vehicle was damaged by a group of militants on Tuesday in Sopore area of Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
“An army vehicle damaged in an IED blast in Yemberzalwai in outskirts of Sopore in north Kashmir s Baramulla district,” the news agency ANI reported.
However, no injuries have been reported in the incident so far. Following the IED blast, the area has been cordoned off. The army has also launched a search operation to capture the hiding militants in and around Baramulla.
Chetan Cheetah, a CRPF commandant and Kirti Chakra awardee, has been admitted to the intensive care unit at AIIMS-Jhajjar in Haryana. He has been battling Covid-19 and his condition is critical.

A Border Security Force (BSF) constable was shot dead in Bandipora s Hajin on late Wednesday evening by suspected terrorists who charged into his home and fatally shot him.
The constable had gone to his home in Jammu & Kashmir’s Bandipora district on a vacation.

SEC orders re-poll in Drugmulla, Hajin (A)
The State Election Commission (SEC) on Saturday declared the polls of two District Development Council (DDC) seats as “null and void” after two women from Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK), married to locals from the Valley, contested the elections in December last year.
“The SEC in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 36 of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Act, 1989 has declared the polling to the DDC constituency Drugmulla and Hajin (A) as void, cancelling the candidature of Soomia Sadaf and Shazia Aslam,” an SEC order reads.

The Kashmir Press Club on Sunday expressed concern over the case registered against Kashmiri journalist Sajad Gul, who has alleged that he was being harassed and falsely implicated by the authorities for doing a story about demolition drive in a village in Bandipora’s Hajin area recently.
Gul, a north Kashmir-based reporter has been booked for “rioting, trespassing, and assault” for an article he wrote for
