LUDHIANA: The district reported 37 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking its Covid-19 tally to 28,424 while the death toll was pushed to 1,408 with three more fatalities in the past 24 hours, deputy commissioner Varinder Sharma said on Wednesday.
Sharma said that till date, 54879 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 1,324.
Sharma appealed to the residents to follow all the directions from the Punjab government under its Mission Fateh to fight the pandemic.

LUDHIANA: Deputy commissioner Varinder Sharma on Friday informed that under the Mission Fateh of the Punjab government, the number of Covid-19 patients getting cured in district Ludhiana is increasing with each passing day. He said that there are 599 active patients in the district at present.
He said that sincere efforts are being made to keep people safe from Covid-19. He said that a total of 83 patients (75 new patients from district Ludhiana and 8 from other states/districts) have tested positive in the last 24 hours time.
He further said that till date, a total of 5,09,221 samples have been taken, out of which report of 5,06,969 samples have been received, of which 479162 samples were found negative while report of 2252 samples were pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 24,259, while 3548 patients are related to other districts/states.
