Teen arrested after SWAT standoff at Central Lubbock house

A teenager was arrested following a more than three-hour standoff with a Lubbock Police Department SWAT team late Wednesday at a house in Central Lubbock.
Jake Canales, 17, was arrested about 11:45 p.m. Wednesday on a state jail felony charge of theft of a firearm after the standoff that began when police tried to serve a warrant for his arrest on that firearms charge shortly before 8:20 p.m. at a house in the 2000 block of 60th Street, according to a statement from police.
Police say Canales refused to leave the house as officers tried to arrest him on the weapons charge, prompting a SWAT and Hostage Negotiator Team to respond.  ....
