NES to deliver system package for Rem Offshore’s newbuild CSV

Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) has won a contract from Green Yard Kleven to deliver the energy design and smart control solution to Rem Offshore’s new construction service vessel (CSV).
NES will supply the energy design and system solution with a battery pack for the vessel named Rem Energy, while the delivery also includes options to expand with a larger battery pack in the future.
According to the company, the 10 MW battery pack permits running with zero emissions when operating at an offshore wind farm, and will be charged via a buoy once such infrastructure is in place. Space is also allocated for future installation of fuel cells. ....

Havyard Group s subsidiary Norwegian Electric Systems (NES) has won a contract to deliver energy design and smart control solution to Rem Offshore’s new vessel for the offshore wind service market. The contract was awarded by Green Yard Kleven who is building the vessel.
According to NES, the vessel will be the first in this segment with a fully-integrated NES bridge system.
Geir Larsen, CEO of Norwegian Electric Systems (NES), says offshore wind power represents an important sector for his company, which has now secured its 11th delivery to a vessel for this market.

MS Finnmarken to convert to hybrid power at Kleven

Green Yard Kleven in Ulsteinvik has won an extensive-technical upgrade deal to convert MS Finnmarken into a hybrid-powered expedition ship.
Under the contract, the second one since Kleven emerged from bankruptcy, the Norwegian shipbuilder has been commissioned to install the hybrid propulsion package, which consists of a battery pack in combination with diesel engines, as well as combined shaft generators and drive motors.
MS Finnmarken is scheduled to arrive at the yard in mid-February, and will provide work beyond the spring of 2021.
“This is an exciting assignment for us, and good news to be able to give to our employees. It is also extra nice that there are local suppliers who will be involved and perform much of the work,” says ....

Fosnavåg, Norway, headquartered Rem Offshore AS has signed a contract for its first offshore wind market vessel. The 89.7 meter by 19.6 meter Construction Service Vessel has been ordered at Green Yard Kleven, as the former Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik is now known following its acquisition by the Green Yard Group.

The ship is being built to a Havyard Design & Solutions AS design. Featuring a W2W (Walk to Work) gangway and three cranes, it will provide accommodations for 99 people,
It is designed with a weather deck and automated warehouse below deck for spare parts and materials and will be prepared for future zero emissions operations with fuel cells and/or energy storage (batteries) ....

The company on Tuesday announced a long-term charter contract with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy for its newbuild CSV, which will be named Rem Energy.
The vessel, to be built by Green Yard Kleven shipyard in Ulsteinvik and designed by Havyard Design & Solutions AS, will be performing maintenance on various offshore wind farms in Germany.
Rem Offshore s vessel Rem Inspector will perform the role as the frontrunner to the newbuild and having already worked on the Global Tech 1 wind farm for two seasons it will return for most of 2021.
