Fire department responds to 2 fires Monday

Green River Star -   July 15, 2021 Monday was a busy day for the Green River Fire Department. Firefighters dealt with two fires that day, which includes one in Jamestown. The fires are under investigation. According to a media release from the city, a grass fire took place behind Living Hope Church. Assistant Fire Chief Larry Erdmann said the fire was extinguished by 12:30 p.m. and was limited to a small area. The department was dispatched to a second fire at 11:24 p.m. to an address on Johnson Street in Jamestown. A home and two sheds were on fire when firefighters arrived and their efforts contained the flames to those thr.

Flags of Honor Proudly Fly in Green River

GREEN RIVER In honor of our heroes and loved ones, Flags of Honor are proudly flying in Green River this Fourth of July weekend. The 2nd annual Green River Flags of Honor pays tribute to all military men and women, emergency first responders, and for any special individual past or present in residents’ lives. Each flag sponsored in honor or memory of someone is displayed with a card with the name of that person. City of Green River Gearing Up for Spectacular Fireworks Show

GREEN RIVER Green River residents can look forward to an exciting, tune-filled and colorful firework show this Sunday beginning at 10 p.m. The City is in the second year of the two-year contract with Lantis Fireworks to put on the display for our community. The company will conduct the show from the pond area at the Wastewater Treatment facility. Residents can gather at Veterans Field, Stratton Meyers Park, and other areas around the City and tune into KUGR Radio which will once again play music to match the fireworks display. KUGR can be found at 104.9 FM and 1490 AM. KUGR is also streamed at theradionetwork.net.

Green River City Officials Encourage Safety When Floating River

GREEN RIVER Green River city officials are encouraging residents to use caution when floating the river this summer even with historic low flow levels. The City is asking people to particularly exercise caution near the diversion dam upstream from city limits. This diversion dam is next to the old Gorge Rock location. City Communications Administrator Steve Core says every year the Green River Fire Department responds to someone getting caught up in the river just below the dam.
