GREEN RIVER — Green River city officials are encouraging residents to use caution when floating the river this summer even with historic low flow levels.
The City is asking people to particularly exercise caution near the diversion dam upstream from city limits. This diversion dam is next to the old Gorge Rock location.
City Communications Administrator Steve Core says every year the Green River Fire Department responds to someone getting caught up in the river just below the dam. The force of the water going over the dam causes an undertow which can trap a person under the water.
