GROVELAND The NAM Knights Green Swamp motorcycle club has a mission to help veterans and law enforcement in their time of need.
So when the Groveland-based chapter got word that veteran and former officer Mike Whitaker’s house caught fire, they were ready to step in and help. The NAM Knights agreed to pay what insurance would not cover, which amounted to $500.
“Mike’s nephew is in our club up in New York and honestly, we were happy to help out a Vietnam veteran and former law enforcement officer,” President Tony “Ruff” Rufrano said. “It’s what we do.”
