What is not up for debate is that many men do struggle with fertility problems and they are often uncomfortable talking about it and reluctant to get help. It is almost like male fertility is not considered as a major component. But it does comprise a sizeable portion of the reasons couples present with infertility.

Despite being a medical doctor, she could not do anything about her fibroid for many years as she was afraid of removing it through surgery.
Dr Joy Oluwatunbi endured so much pain and bleeding every day in 2017 and heavy bleeding thereafter until she did some research, adjusted her diet and things became normal.
With all her research, she still could not be as productive as she wanted during her menstrual cycle due to the fibroid.
Recounting her experience with fibroid, she said, “The fibroid brought my life to a standstill. I was working in a private hospital and I had to resign. I could not go out during my cycle as I stayed indoors during that period. I had to organise my life around my cycle.
Yinka Davies has been married for over five years without a child. She has been to many hospitals and done many tests in a bid to get pregnant.
Recently, she was told by a gynaecologist that she had fibroid. She was disturbed and felt the fibroid could be the reason she was unable to have her children.
While her assumptions may be true according to some experts, some other experts insist fibroid and infertility are not related.
In a document by reproductivefacts.org, approximately five to 10 percent of infertile women have fibroids although their size and location determine whether fibroids affect fertility.

Since 2003 till date, Nordica Fertility Centre has successfully treated infertility in couples, hence producing over 3500 babies, the Managing Director of the organisation, Dr. Abayomi Ajayi has said.
Speaking at a virtual press briefing recently as part of activities to mark Nordica’s 18th year anniversary, Ajayi said he was glad the centre has put smiles on the faces of thousands of couples in Nigeria.
He said: “Within the last 18 years, we have helped families with over 3500 babies and we are looking forward to doing more in the near future. I am encouraging Nigerians to take their healthcare seriously. Infertility is a medical condition. It should be treated as such.
