With most of the property market finding its footing by the end of 2020, after the COVID-induced disruption, experts have grown optimistic about the future of real estate in a post-pandemic world.
REA Group’s chief economist, Nerida Conisbee, laid out the highlights of the performance of each capital city market in 2020, along with her forecast of what’s to come in 2021:

There is concern the COVID-19 vaccine may be refused in remote Northern Territory communities after a mammoth effort to get it there.
Gurindji man Charlie King told ABC Radio Darwin he identified some resistance when he brought up the topic in an unnamed community.
There s some people saying simply, We re not going to do it , because they don t understand how serious this virus is, he said. ....

The Holiday Inn at Melbourne has been in the news recently, as the site of virus contamination suspected to be through the ventilation system. Archi-spotters will have recognized the concave shape of the hotel walls as one of several similar designs in Australia. Firstly, on the design; secondly, on the ventilation.
The floor plan, based on a triangle, was developed in the USA in the 70s by ‘Travelodge Hotels’. It’s a masterpiece of modernist minimalism: the central core is equally distant from a fire stair at the end of three double loaded corridors, minimizing non-monetised circulation space. The curved concave exterior means the that the widest part of each room is along the internal corridor, allowing for entry, storage and bathroom and the room proper narrows to the smallest amount of window required for light and view. ....

About a dozen troops sprang into action, firing machine guns and cannons off the cliffs of the Darwin Esplanade as smoke gathered around them.
As the re-enactment came to a close, a RAAF F/A-18A/B Hornet flew past Darwin city from the south east at a speed of 850km/h.
After a loop of the capital, it returned to Darwin from the north west, bringing a conclusion to commemorations, before returning to RAAF Base Tindal.
