After three consecutive meetings, the Inkblot Women In Film (IWIF) held its fourth edition, hosting both new and recurring attendees on May 6, 2021 in Lagos State.
The intimately designed event was graced by Actor, Kehinde Bankole; Actor, Producer & Host, Eku Edewor;  Lawyer, Bukki Olabiyi; Producer, Abimbola Craig, Post Producer, Patience Lawal; Producer, Matilda Ogunleye; Production Designer, Jennifer Anti; Managing Partner, GLG Communications, Omawumi Ogbe; with Zulumoke Oyibio- co-founder, Inkblot Productions  &  Convener IWIF.
At the event, IWIF did not fail to further enumerate issues faced by cast and crew members in Nollywood. The safe space allowed women in the Nigerian Film industry to express their deepest concerns and challenges along with suggested solutions to be implemented. ....

critics believe that the NYSC is indirectly fuelling unemployment in Nigeria because there are employers that rely on corps members every time there is mobilisation rather than employing permanent workers. How do you address this?
Not at all. The NYSC is not fuelling unemployment. The NYSC members contribute to our national development. Some corps members are retained by their employers on a permanent basis. But apart from that, they also learn a lot from their places of primary assignment. And to address this challenge of unemployment, the NYSC introduced a skill acquisition and entrepreneurship development programme for corps members and we have partnered various stakeholders like the Bank of Industry, the Central Bank of Nigeria, ....

Arts, entertainment critical in job creation, says Statistician-General

Abuja, May 4, 2021 The Statistician-General of the Federation, Mr Yemi Kale, says the arts and entertainment sector cannot be ignored if Nigeria is truly desirous of creating more jobs for its teeming youths.
Kale said this on Tuesday in Abuja at the inauguration of the NBS-NFC Technical Committee and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), for the development of a comprehensive statistical framework for the Nigerian Film Industry.
The MoU was signed by Kale and Mr Chidia Madueke, the Managing Director, Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC).
Kale also noted that the sector could grow Nigeria’s export earnings in services and goods. ....

Over the weekend in Lagos, female stakeholders in the Nigerian movie industry gathered to discuss and proffer solutions to the challenges they face.
The occasion was the April edition of the Inkblot Women in Film (IWIF) lunch. IWIF is an initiative of the Co-founder of Inkblot Productions, Zulumoke Oyibo.
With the objective of tackling social, ethical, and professional issues surrounding women in Nollywood, IWIF aims at creating a working environment that is safe and free. ....
