Excelsior Sports Correspondent JAMMU, July 28: J&K Sports Council in collaboration with Ad-hoc Committee of J&K Fencing Association organized day and night goodwill Fencing competition at Indoor Fencing Hall, MA Stadium, here today under the supervision of Ashok Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu. Rakesh Dubey, KAS officer was the chief guest of the event who inaugurated the championship, whereas Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K Sports Council was the guest of honour and Dr Zafar Iqbal was the special guest on the occasion. Rashid Ahmed, convener Ad-hoc Committee briefed the dignitaries about the game of fencing and its growing popularity among the general masses and expressed his gratitude to the Council for granting State Centre of Excellence of Fencing at MA Stadium, here. ....
Shaheen FC Jammu, Kashmir Avengers FC script wins Shaheen FC Jammu, Kashmir Avengers FC script wins Professional Football League-2021 Excelsior Sports Correspondent JAMMU, July 26: Shaheen FC Jammu defeated SCFA by five goals to three (5-3), whereas Kashmir Avengers FC trounced Real Kashmir FC (R) by three goals to nil in the ongoing 1st edition of Professional Football League-2021, being organised by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today. The first match was played between SCFA and Shaheen FC Jammu. Both the teams played quality Football and SCFA displayed man to man marking and perfect ball control but Shaheen Sports FC defeated the SCFA by five goals to three. Amritpal and Mac scored two goals each and Gagandeep scored one goal for Shaheen FC. The young Turks of SCFA proved equally good and scored three beautiful goals wherein Parvez netted two goals, while Abinam scored one goal. Amrit Pal Singh ....
Share SRINAGAR : Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan today deliberated upon honing the sporting skills of school children with the President of School Games Federation of India (SGFI). The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary, Youth Services & Sports, Alok Kumar; Administrative Secretary School Education, BK Singh; DG YSS, Dr Saleem ur Rehman, Secretary Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul and other officers and representatives of the Youth Services and SGFI respectively. The Advisor asked the President SGFI to look for the ways and means of establishing Wrestling and Boxing academies in the twin divisions of Jammu and Kashmir. He maintained that J&K has raised enough infrastructure during the past few years along the length and breadth of UT that has enabled it to establish sports training facilities anywhere. He asked them that these sports are popular here and world class players could be produced with little handholding in such games. ....
