Sunday’s featured race is the Coronation Cup Stakes, run over 5 1/2 furlongs on the Mellon Turf, and will be the Saratoga debut of Goin’ Good (5-2).
The Brad Cox trainee comes to the Spa following a trio of recent races in Kentucky, the last of which was a well-run win over similar competition at the same distance. Goin’ Good paced well in that race, then overpowered the contenders in the stretch, including Illegal Smile (9-2). She can be expected to run a similar race today, likely pacing behind Wink (10-1) or What a Trick (20-1) before breaking for home. She looks the part of a classic favorite in this race.
