Commissioners agree to study on utility efficiency improvements Waxahachie Daily Light Ellis County commissioners got the ball rolling on a facility improvement project that is “budget-neutral” during Tuesday’s regular meeting at the Ellis County Historic Courthouse. Commissioners agreed to an Investment Grade Audit agreement with the McKinstry firm to do a detailed analysis of the county’s utility expenses and recommend upgrades that would eventually pay for themselves. The cost of the audit is $50,000, but this amount will be paid only if the county does not go forward with the recommendations. The audit will take about three months to complete and will be evaluated by an independent third party. ....

Lubbock County Commissioners appointed Webb Judge for Lubbock County Court at Law No. 3, requiring his resignation from the Lubbock ISD Board of Trustees. Webb has practiced law in Lubbock for more than 15 years. He and wife Karen have two children, and are active in the PTAs at Hutchinson Middle School and Lubbock High School where their children attend school. Webb is also a former board member of the Lubbock ISD Foundation for Excellence. ....

Judge Juli A. Mathews Ft. Bend County Commissioners Court agreed to appoint Judge Juli A. Mathew, County Court at Law No. 3, the necessary approval to begin a new specialty court, the Juvenile Intervention and Mental Health Court. During the public comments, Shariq Abdul Ghani, representing the Minaret Foundation, Fort Bend Transformation Church, and the Fort Bend Interfaith Community spoke in support of this court. Judge Mathew expects the JIMH Court to begin servicing the qualified youths of Fort Bend County starting January 2021. The program has the support of all of the County Court at Law Judges, Juvenile Probation, Texana as well as other professional and treatment providers. ....
