Judge Siraj Desai gets extension to respond to 'unmeritous' SA Zionist Federation complaint

Judge Siraj Desai has been granted an extension to respond to a
complaint by the SA Zionist Federation.
It approached the Judicial Conduct Committee, claiming he breached the
Judicial Service Commission Act and Code of Judicial Conduct between 2009 and
2020.
Desai was appointed the Legal Services Ombud after his retirement last
year.
Former Western Cape High Court Judge Siraj Desai has been granted an
extension to respond to a complaint by the SA Zionist Federation (SAZF) against
him with the Judicial Conduct Committee (JCC).
Desai s spokesperson, Professor Usuf Chikte, said his request for an

The Essa and Fatima Moosa Foundation wants a complaint lodged by the SA Zionist Federation against retired judge Siraj Desai at the Judicial Conduct Committee to be withdrawn.
In defending Desai, the foundation accused the SAZF of trying to use the country s judiciary to advance objectives of the apartheid state of Israel .
The SAZF complaint against Desai followed an interview Desai conducted with an Iranian Youtube channel.
The Essa and Fatima Moosa Foundation has come out in defence of retired judge Siraj Desai, calling on the South Africa Zionist Federation (SAZF) to withdraw a complaint it laid with the Judicial Conduct Committee against him. ....
