TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - A man has been booked into the Smith County Jail after his alleged delay in seeking medical care for his daughter led to a double amputation.
According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, on March 2, Child Protective Services (CPS) reported to them a possible child abuse case. Doctors with UT Health Tyler had previously notified CPS of a disabled 17-year-old female who had been taken to the hospital for severe frostbite to both feet.

WACO, TX â Waco Police received a call just before 4 am Thursday morning about a suspicious person in the 1200 block of James Ave.
Once officers arrived on the scene, they located a man walking on James Ave. with a backpack.
Upon further investigation, officers learned the man was in the area to commit burglaries and had already committed at least one.
The man initially lied about his identity but officers were able to identify the male as 22-year-old Jake Satterwhite.
IOLA – A routine traffic stop turned into a large drug bust Thursday, April 1, as 51-year-old Jerome Icasiano of San Diego, CA was in possession of over 150-pounds of suspected marijuana and several illegal firearms.
Just after 3 a.m. Grimes County Sheriff Deputy Zackry Pavlock conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Farm to Market Road 39 south of Iola.
The driver, Icasiano, told Pavlock he and his passenger were coming from San Diego, California on their way to Houston. During the traffic stop Pavlock stated Icasiano appeared nervous and later admitted to possessing a handgun.
Pavlock removed Icasiano and the passenger and secured the handgun. Icasiano granted verbal permission allowing Pavlock to search the vehicle. During the search deputies located several duffle bags containing vacuum sealed bags with suspected marijuana in the back hatch of the vehicle.
