LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. It s easy for families to cool off in Wilkes-Barre at the Coal Street Park splash pad.
It s just too hot, and there aren t any public pools, so we thought we d bring the kids here. Watching my granddaughter Tessa and her brother Roman today, and we re having a blast, Anita Frank said.
Perhaps too much fun as it isn t as easy to leave a place like this on a hot summer day/ ....

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. Families were able to beat the heat on Saturday in part of Wilkes-Barre.
The Splash Pad at Coal Street Park is now open for the season.

Families can splash around for free.
It s really great because a lot of kids are not fortunate enough to have their own pool, and we don t really have a community pool around here, so this is a nice little play area for them and on top of being all sweaty from the game. What s better than a win and a splash time, said Ashlee Romiski of Wilkes-Barre. ....
