Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has restated his administration’s commitment to the security of lives and properties of the people of the State.
Governor Ikpeazu stated this in a meeting with the Executive Chairmen of the LGAs and some stakeholders in the security sector of the state at the Governor’s Lodge, Aba.
He emphasized the importance of security as the state is at the confluence of the South East and South-South, with the possibility of criminal activities from these other areas snowballing into the state.
The Governor, who announced far reaching strategic security measures at the Community, Local Government and State levels, disclosed that selected numbers of security personnel will be in charge at various levels of security across the State with specific focus on the activities of criminal herders. ....

Nigerian govt clears air on curfew, new COVID-19 lockdown

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee (PSC) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has sought to clarify misrepresentation in their briefing on Monday.
Mustapha, speaking to NAN on Tuesday, said it was erroneously reported that the federal government had re-introduced nationwide curfew between 12am and 4am, as part of the COVID-19 safety protocols.
According to him, the announcement made by the National Incident Manager, Dr. Mukhtar Mohammed, was taken out of context.
Mustapha explained that the curfew imposed earlier under Phase Three of the eased lockdown was not relaxed. ....
