SUSSEX COUNTY, NJ More than one out of every eight hospital beds in Newton Medical Center is occupied by a patient being treated for the coronavirus, according to the latest data.
The latest federal data shows capacity at 76 percent and 12 percent of all beds filled with COVID-19 patients.
The federal government released new, hospital-level data on Monday. NPR, using analysis from the University of Minnesota s COVID-19 Hospitalization Tracking Project, built a tool that shows hospital-by-hospital information.

Hamburg NJ stabbing at Gingerbread Castle may have been set-up

Prosecutors say Fullman was with Rogers when she contacted the boy and offered to meet him at the castle to return a pair of headphones. Once there, Rogers allegedly used a 4-inch pocket knife to stab the teen in the head, upper chest, armpit and hand.
After causing what Hamburg police called life-threatening injuries, Rogers allegedly fled the scene. It was not immediately clear whether Fullman remained, but authorities said another individual called police.
The victim was taken to Newton Medical Center, where he received eight staples to his head and 37 stitches, according to Sussex County Assistant Prosecutor Sahil Kabse. The courts have withheld the boy s name because he is a juvenile. ....

New Jersey hospitals rank 17th best in the nation for safety, a drop from eighth place a year ago and a potentially troubling sign as the pandemic continues to make unrelenting demands on healthcare professionals, according to the latest Leapfrog Hospital Safety report card.
Six hospitals went up a grade while 15 hospitals went down a grade, according to an analysis by the New Jersey Health Care Quality Institute, a consumer, research nonprofit that jointly releases the report with Leapfrog. ....

Health officials are expecting the first doses of a COVID-19 vaccine to arrive in Harvey County this week.
And all the doses coming are earmarked for medical workers and residents in long-term care facilities.
We should have some arriving in Harvey County this week, Lynnette Redington, director of the Harvey County Health Department, told the Harvey County Commission on Tuesday. They will not go to the health department. They will go to the hospital and Walgreens for their distribution. (The hospital and Walgreens) have already made arrangements with long-term care facilities. It is not for the public to go to the hospital or Walgreens asking for a vaccine at this time. ....
