Nabilah Nordin represented by Neon Parc Melbourne gallery adds new artist to its stable. Words: Maddy Matheson Nabilah Nordin, best known for her materially informed sculpture practice. Featured in Art Collector’s 50 things collectors should know issue earlier this year, Mariam Arcilla writes, “(Nordin) contorts items with cement, wood, foam, wire and paint, conjuring a tactile ecosystem of lopsided, hyperbolic forms and impasto-gooped palettes.” Read the full article here. Slyvester’s multi-disciplinary practice involves staged studio photography, sculpture, video, installation, performance and music. Each photograph that Sylvester creates is the result of a detailed process of planning and research, with handmade sets, props and a wide range of pop culture moments and artefacts photographed in his Melbourne studio. ....

Together with Luisa Bosci, director of Buxton International Collection, she is running a summer art pop-up. Caleb Shea of LON Gallery s work at the Quarantine Art Fair. Called the Quarantine Art Fair, the show is at the historic Commanding Officer’s House and Grounds at Point Nepean National Park, with Port Phillip Bay providing a stunning backdrop. It s a strangely appropriate venue, once part of the quarantine station originally set up in 1852. Open to between 300-400 people a day, visitors attend for timed, hour-long visits; there s also a bar set up on the lawns outside. ....
