Mangrove grows alcohol-free offering with Sea Arch 1st June, 2021 by Kate Malczewski Non-alcoholic ‘spirit’ producer Sea Arch has appointed Mangrove as its UK distributor. Non-alcoholic ‘spirit’ Sea Arch has secured a distribution deal with Mangrove UK Through a new distribution agreement, Mangrove intends to increase Sea Arch’s production, secure new off-trade listings for the no-ABV ‘spirit’ and develop a ‘robust plan’ for working with the on-trade. Sea Arch is currently available at retailers including Ocado, Amazon, Farmdrop and Virgin Wines, and is listed in several bars and restaurants. The brand reported a 200% sales increase in 2020 and 2021. Founded in 2018 by Sarah and Geoff Yates, Sea Arch takes its inspiration from the coast of Devon, England, where it is made.

Marston’s appoints Andrew Andrea as next CEO Marston’s board has announced Andrew Andrea will take the reins as its next chief executive officer from 3 October 2021.  Currently chief financial officer and corporate development officer at the 1,500-site pub group, Andrea’s appointment comes after current CEO Ralph Findlay revealed his decision to step down at the end of the current financial year.  Andrea has more than 23 years’ worth of experience within the pub and brewing industry and has served on Marston’s board since 2009 having joined the company seven years prior. Covid-19 costs pub and restaurant owners £40,313 each on average 

New drinks launches 29 January

Lockdown launch: Mooze 12% ABV gin alternative  Gin alternative Mooze was created during lockdown 2.0 when founder Mel Sims wanted to moderate her alcohol intake after her hospitality business was forced to close.  The 12% ABV, 18 calorie per serving, vegan-friendly pour is described as a “middle of the road” rather than “extreme” alternative to gin. It is also sugar and sweetener free.  The spirit goes through the same distillation process as gin, with its founder stating the 12% ABV means that the botanicals – juniper, cucumber, orange zest, clementine zest, macadamia nuts and coriander – come through into the drink better. Square Root and Cloudwater Soda release Grapefruit Hopped Iced Tea soda
