MYSURU: The city is hit by the scarcity of construction materials and it is affecting the real estate sector which is already reeling under a crisis due to the pandemic. Consequently, the prices have jumped too, pushing the budget of families planning on constructing homes. The shortage has triggered a surge in prices and has affected several government projects as well. Constructions materials like M-sand and gravel are supplied to the city from Srirangapatna, Pandavapura and Nagamangala in Mandya district. Quarries in Mandya district supply around 6,000 to 7,000 tonnes of M -Sand and 2,000 tonnes of gravel to Mysuru city alone, while the quarries in Gundlupet and Huliyurdurga are able to supply about 2,000 tonnes of M-sand against and 500 tonnes of gravel. ....
