May 17, 2021 Marion–Troopers from the Marion Post are investigating a serious injury crash that occurred on May 16, 2021, at approximately 4:11PM at the intersection of State Route 47 and Gooding Road (County Road 126) in Prospect Township, Marion County. The crash involved a 2013 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by Sherry E. Krouse, age 62, of Marion, Ohio, and a 2018 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Michael K. Hatfield, age 39, of Cardington, Ohio. Mr. Hatfield was traveling westbound on State Route 47. Ms. Krouse was traveling northbound on Gooding Road, failed to yield to the posted stop signs, entered the intersection, and was struck by the Harley Davidson. The Chevrolet traveled off the west side of Gooding Road and struck a guy wire. ....

Driver to serve minimum of 18 years for hit-and-run death of two bicyclists Updated Apr 30, 2021; MONROE COUNTY, MI – A driver accused of killing two women on the side of the road and driving away is going to prison. Ryan Paul Miettinen was sentenced Thursday, April 29, by Monroe County Circuit Judge Michael A. Weipert, to serve at minimum two consecutive 9-40 year terms in prison for deaths of Melissa Williamson and Coleen Huling who were hit by Miettinen on June 26, 2020, according to the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office. Miettinen, 22, of Willis, pleaded no contest in February to two felony counts of failure to stop at the scene of a crash when at fault resulting in the deaths and entered a sentencing agreement calling for a minimum sentence of nine years on each count. ....

Ryan Miettinen, 22, of Willis, was charged with two counts of reckless driving causing death and two counts of failure to stop at the scene of an accident when at fault causing death. According to the Monroe County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Miettinen was sentenced to nine to 40 years in prison for each case, to be served consecutively a total minimum of 18 years for the deaths of 25-year-old Melissa Williamson and 29-year-old Coleen Huling. ....

Brathwaite, of 1st Avenue, Gooding Road, Station Hill, St Michael is accused of, committing three offences on May 28 under Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act by falsely representing that 11 pairs of slippers and 13 t-shirts were of “a particular standard, quality, style or model”, namely Puma. He is also charged with allegedly exposing the goods for sale on the same day, intending to benefit from their sale, and exposing the items for sale without the consent of the owner of the Puma trademark. ....
