A story about her work was published in The Fiji Times on March 25 1978. She said she enjoyed working at the Nuffield Clinic because children and mothers usually preferred a female physician. Not that she did not want to work for everybody, but she noted that “children were much at home with me” and it was “easier for the mother and me and less dramatic for the child”. A mother herself, Dr Laisa understood children and the feelings of mothers. Her satisfaction in treating patients came from mothers whose gratitude was obvious when their sick children regained their health. ....

Acting Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu said the teacher was one of seven people who were found drunk at Korovou. He said 12 people were arrested in the Eastern Division which included five people of Navuloa in Nakasi, whereby one is a juvenile – all were arrested for social gathering. “The Western Division recorded 14 cases including five that were arrested for drinking grog at Tonuve village in Keiyasi, two men aged 17 were found drinking at the Saru area in Lautoka while three men were found to have breached the curfew restrictions at the Navakai, Dratabu, and the Lautoka area,” A/CP Tudravu said. ....
