DMS mock trial teams earn state awards Monday, December 14, 2020 6:38 PM
Decorah Middle School teams had strong performances at the State Mock Trial competition early in December, earning two trophies and six outstanding performance medals.
All three Decorah teams were undefeated in the Regional competition and had one win and one loss at State.
Six Decorah students were honored with All-State individual medals, the most of any of the 24 competing teams: Caleb Fey and Natalie Goodner for Outstanding Attorney and June Breitenbach-Dirks, Oliver Brummel, Greta Jones, Naomi Pedlar for Outstanding Witness. To earn this award, a student must be nominated by both judges as one of their top choices in a single round. Decorah students won six of the 26 medals awarded for outstanding performance.
