Anderson County Judge Don Elledge retiring

Anderson County Circuit Court Judge Donald R. Elledge is retiring after serving the county for more than 15 years. 
Elledge was sworn in as judge on Sept. 1, 2005, and was elected unopposed in 2006 and 2014, according to a news release.
As Circuit Court judge, he presides over the county’s civil and criminal jury trials. He also presides over the county’s Drug Court and is a former chairman for the Drug Court Committee of the Tennessee Judicial Conference. 
Elledge attended Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville and the YWCA Night Law School, which is now the Nashville School of Law. Prior to taking the bench, he was an attorney in private practice. He was selected as an Outstanding Lawyer of America and a Martindale-Hubbell AV Rated Attorney. He is also a former president of the Anderson County Bar Association.  ....

HUNTINGDON Juniata College’s Mock Trial team concluded a successful season recently, establishing its prowess as a nationally ranked competitor.
Led by Attorney David Andrews ’74, the team has advanced to the National Playoffs each of the three years the team has been in existence.
“Juniata Mock Trial has distinguished itself on a national level with a National Ranking,” Andrews said.
“We have achieved our success with playing large Division One schools since there are no distinctions between school sizes in Mock Trial.” ....

Still reeling from the aftermath of the deadly insurrection at the seat of the U.S. government last week, U.S. Capitol Police have designated Yogananda Pittman as the law enforcement agency s acting chief.
She has been with the force since April 2001 and was named acting chief on Friday, according to the U. S. Capitol Police (USCP) website. That came two days after pro-Trump extremists faced off and eventually overwhelmed security forces at the U.S. Capitol complex. ....
