City creates obsolete property rehabilitation district, awards tax exemption
Cheboygan Daily Tribune
CHEBOYGAN At the July 13 meeting of the Cheboygan City Council, council members voted unanimously to create an obsolete property rehabilitation district and to award a 12 year tax abatement for 225 N. Main St.
The creation of the obsolete property rehabilitation district was made possible through Public Act 146 of 2000 and will be for the former Johnson s Studio building on North Main Street. The mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems in the building are obsolete and need to be completely upgraded. Essentially what we would be doing first is we d be setting the district and then we would approve the abatement, if that s what council decides to do, said Cheboygan City Clerk and Treasurer Bridget Brown.

I had requested three proposals and the two that you have in front of you are the two that I received, said Cheboygan City Clerk and Treasurer Bridget Brown. We have used Gabridge and Company since I have been here, but I know for years prior to that and as you can see just based on cost alone Gabridge is certainly less expensive.
