SACRAMENTO, Calif. This Fourth of July, you didn’t have to travel very far to find Americans of all ages and backgrounds celebrating Independence Day.  
The Pavilions were bustling at Rusch Community Park in Citrus Heights.
Everyone’s catching up, and I’m expecting my baby so everyone is touching my belly, said Kylee Lush, as she celebrated the holiday with her family.

The crash happened on the northbound side of Business 80, just south of the American River Bridge around 3 a.m.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. A 21-year-old man was struck and killed by a car while riding an electric rideshare scooter on Business 80 in Sacramento overnight.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. on the northbound side of Business 80, just to the south of the American River Bridge.
Officers with CHP – South Sacramento were dispatched to the scene. When they arrived, the officers said they found the 21-year-old man with obvious fatal injuries and an electric scooter sitting in the roadway with significant damage. The driver that apparently hit the man was pulled over. ....

Front Street Animal Shelter is waiving all fees in an effort to increase its return to owner rate, saying fewer than one out of three lost dogs are claimed.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Owners who have to retrieve their lost pets from Front Street Animal Shelter will no longer have to pay fees for the rest of the year. 
Front Street Animal Shelter is waiving all fees to increase its return to owner rate. They say that nationally, fewer than one out of three dogs and one out of 10 cats are claimed.    ....
