With 33,162 sales in March, TVS is leading the charts. But, bearing in mind that this number is the sum of not one, not two but three bikes’ (the Apache RTR 160, 160 4V, 180 and 200 4V) sales, it becomes slightly less significant. In close contention for the top spot is the Royal Enfield Classic 350, which single-handedly managed 31,694 sales. The Classic 350 will soon be getting its biggest update yet, which could take it to the top of the sales charts once again. Till then,
Next in line is the Bajaj Pulsar 150. With almost 30,000 sales, it is the highest selling motorcycle in its segment even though it feels dated, thanks to its dull feature list. Another 150cc bike featuring here is the Yamaha FZ S V3 which managed to clock sales of 16,653 units. This might not be close to the Pulsar’s number but the FZ S is the only Japanese bike here taking the fight to the Indian manufacturers. ....
Expect prices to go up by around Rs 5,000-Rs 6,000 [UPDATE: The launch of the 2021 TVS Apache RR 310 has been postponed due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases across the country. TVS will be announcing a new date for the same soon. Stay tuned.]
The TVS Apache RR 310 is set to receive yet another set of updates. The flagship sportbike, the launch for which has been delayed to later this month due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, is expected to carry a price premium of Rs 5,000-Rs 6,000 over the 2020 model. With every edition, the Apache has gotten better and we hope the same is in store for the 2021 model. ....
57.35kmpl With surging fuel prices, fuel efficiency is one of the crucial aspects that one looks for in a bike. But it isn’t the deciding factor for this class of motorcycles. You are getting into a sporty class and the Apache does full justice in balancing the excitement and sensibility that one seeks from 200cc motorcycles. The updated RTR 200 4V gets a new engine tune with a wider powerband and a meatier mid-range. It certainly doesn’t make you work the gearbox as much as the Pulsar, but you cannot get away with sticking it in higher gears all day like the Hornet. ....
Extra performance at no extra charge Much like the 2021 RTR 200 4V, the RTR 160 4V too has received a new engine tune. It now makes 1.63PS and 0.61Nm more. Weight has gone down by 2kg. The highly likeable TVS Apache RTR 160 4V has received some small yet extremely impactful updates for 2021. The 160cc sporty naked now arrives with a new engine tune that not only makes it more powerful than before but also the most powerful 160cc bike in the country. How’s It Priced? Who Are Its Rivals? That’s the beauty of the 2021 RTR 160 4V, it arrives at the same asking price as before. The rear drum variant is still priced at Rs 1,07,270 while the rear disc trim costs Rs 1,10,320 (ex-showroom Delhi). It continues to be priced on par with its competition. Only the less powerful but extremely frugal Yamaha FZ Fi V3 and Hero Xtreme 160R are cheaper than the RTR 160 4V. ....
