Covid claims 12 lives, infects 298 | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: Twelve residents of Ludhiana died of Covid-19 and 298 tested positive on Sunday. As per the health department bulletin, 19 deaths were reported on the day. Of these, 12 patients were of the district, two of Sangrur and one each of Amritsar, Kapurthala, Moga, Malerkotla and Patiala. The district casualties included a 55-year-old man of Salem Tabri, a 30-year-old man of Noorwala Road, a 71-year-old man of Sehjad village, a 45-yaer-old man of Bachhitter Nagar, a 27-year-old woman of Mansuran village, a 53-year-old man of Guru Nanak Dev Nagar, a 57-year-old woman of Lehal village in Payal, a 63-year-old man of Rupalo village, a 69-year-old man of Sekha village, a 44-year-old man of Jagraon, a 67-year-old man of Khanna, and a 60-year-old woman of Sehjad village.

Two more die; 14 +ve in Ludhiana

5268 Ludhiana, January 18 Two persons fell prey to Covid, while 14 tested positive for the deadly virus in the district today. The total positive cases in the district have now reached 25,312, while 983 people have lost their lives so far. Now there are 247 active cases in the district, while 44 people were quarantined today. Two persons who lost their lives today were aged 81 and 67 and were residents of Rajguru Nagar and Guru Arjun Dev Nagar, respectively. Both victims were males. The co-morbidities they were suffering from included hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery disease and coronary kidney disease. Yesterday, senior medical officer of the Civil Hospital, Dr Amarjit Kaur, tested positive for Covid. She quarantined herself after the test. She was present on duty on Saturday when the Covid vaccination drive kicked off.
