This has frequently resembled a game of whack-a-mole with a new scheme or trick popping up every time AARP and other consumer advocates knock down a deceptive supplier tactic through legislation or a Public Utilities Regulatory Authority ruling.

County to consider joining CEA, San Diego Clean Power
The CEA is a Community Choice Energy program launched by the cities of Del Mar, Solana Beach and Carlsbad.

The Clean Energy Alliance will be one of the options that San Diego County considers for joining a Community Choice Energy program.
CEA board members discussed the possible addition of the county during their April 22 meeting.
Barbara Boswell, the agency’s CEO, said the county is evaluating, among other criteria, “how do our policies and procedures we have in place align with their guiding principles?”
The CEA, which will begin serving resident and business customers next month, currently consists of Del Mar, Solana Beach and Carlsbad. Adding additional cities or other government agencies has been one of the board’s goals. ....

Across the state, cities and towns are moving from planning to pursue climate action to actually taking action!  Municipalities working with citizen activists, volunteers, nonprofit organizations and businesses are taking bold steps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase the use of renewable energy.
Many communities, like Amherst, have used the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness program to help fund the creation of a Climate Action Plan. And, more and more municipalities have now moved to take innovative actions to accelerate emissions reduction.
