Chyna Carrillo, a 24-year-old Latinx trans woman, was reportedly murdered in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania last Thursday, making her death the seventh known trans homicide in the first two months of this year. According to the local newspaper New Castle News, Carrillo was beaten to death by Juan Carter Hernandez, a 33-year-old Marine Corps deserter who previously served time in prison for murdering his wife. Police officers responding to the scene ordered Hernandez to cease. When he refused to do so, Hernandez was shot and killed at the scene by one of the responding police officers, who has been placed on administrative leave pending investigation. ....
