Senate adopts resolution expressing condolences to the family of former Sen. Ziga
The Senate adopted a resolution expressing its profound sympathy and sincere condolences to the family of former Sen. Victor Ziga who passed away last January 31, 2021 at the age of 75.
Senate Resolution No. (SRN) 630, introduced by Senate President Vicente C. Sotto III and Majority Leader Juan Miguel Migz F. Zubiri, was adopted during the hybrid plenary session Monday, February 1, 2021.
We will miss him but his memory and his legacy will always remain in the halls of the Philippine Senate, said Sotto.
Zubiri said Ziga was instrumental in the passage of important measures such as Republic Act (RA) 6728, or GATSPE, which provides government assistance to students and teachers in private educational institutions; RA 6948, which standardizes and upgrades the benefits of military veterans and their dependents; RA 6957, or the Build-Operate-Transfer Law ; RA 7160, or ....

A MAJOR FUNDRAISING effort is underway to raise funds for dual Waterford minor Mark Dalton who suffered a spinal injury in a car crash last December.
Dalton, his twin brother Tom and three friends were involved in the serious accident, which left Mark with major trauma to his spine.  ....

A new report – Mobilising Research Excellence in the Midlands to Tackle COVID-19 – published today (Friday, January 15 2021) reveals that the Midlands has moved swiftly to apply its wealth of capability in its hospitals, businesses and universities, including the University of Warwick, to deliver £90m of research to support regional, national and global efforts to tackle the Coronavirus Pandemic.

Experts in the Midlands are leading 81 new COVID-19 research programmes.

UAE experts warn against excessive use of sleeping pills

The National Rehabilitation Centre in Abu Dhabi warned of the danger of excessive use of sleeping pills and sedative drugs and their use for a long time, as total dependence on this type of drug is dangerous and causes addiction.
Its health complications are dangerous for vital body systems, and may even be fatal.
The centre stressed that these drugs must be used in a regulated manner, for limited times, in order to control the symptoms of some health problems, such as insomnia, anxiety and tension disorders. ....
