Govt is Allocating Rs. 2.1 Trillion for Development Programs in Budget 2021-22: Asad Umar
The Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar, announced that the National Economic Council (NEC) has approved the allocation of Rs. 2.10 trillion for the country’s development program.
This included Rs. 87 billion for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for 2021-22 against Rs. 1,527 billion for 2020-21, with an increase of 36.4 percent.

As we all know, water is a scarce resource. It is even predicted that by 2025, half of the world’s population will be living in water-stressed areas, a situation that has a very high potential of erupting extreme poverty across the world.
The Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) (2017/18) indicates that access to basic drinking water in the Northern Region stands at 50%, nonetheless, there is increasing demand by households, agriculture and industry, and the impacts of climate change have also contributed to putting water under extreme threat. ....

ISLAMABAD: The budget-making process for 2021-22 has kick-started as the Ministry of Finance has shared Indicative Budget Ceiling (IBC) with the Ministry of Planning for allocation of Rs800 billion for Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in the next budget 2021-22.
“Yes, the Ministry of Finance has shared the IBC for allocation of development funds under the PSDP to the tune of Rs800 billion for the upcoming budget,” the official communication sent by the Finance Division to Ministry of Planning reads out here on Wednesday.
The utilisation of development funds both at the federal and provincial levels remained pathetic during last two years. The Planning Commission released full funds for the fourth quarter (April-June) period of the outgoing fiscal year but the utilization failed to get momentum so far. It is yet to seen how the utilization of development funds will be geared up after Eid ....
