JIK Raises the Bar in Hygiene Practice


Indigenous hygiene and household brand, JIK has bagged an endorsement deal with the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) to promote sound hygiene practices in Nigeria. NANNM is a professional-cum trade union organisation of all professional nurses and midwives who are trained, registered, and licensed to practice the nursing profession at all the levels of the healthcare delivery system.
The new deal places more expectations on the brand in the fulfilling its objective to realise a world where families are safe from illness-causing germs and viruses.

(AP) – Two Nigerian nurses were attacked by the family of a deceased COVID-19 patient. One nurse had her hair ripped out and suffered a fracture. The second was beaten into a coma.
Following the assaults, nurses at Federal Medical Centre in the Southwestern city of Owo stopped treating patients, demanding the hospital improve security. Almost two weeks passed before they returned to work with armed guards posted around the clock.
“We don’t give life. It is God that gives life. We only care or we manage,” said Francis Ajibola, a local leader with the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives. ....

Insults, beatings, arrests – health workers battling the coronavirus were subjected to more than 400 acts of violence related to Covid-19 worldwide in 2020, according to a report by a health NGO published Tuesday.
