The San Diego County Medical Examiner s Office on Wednesday identified the body found buried on a property in Fallbrook last week as 56-year-old Robert Berry Pierce.
Pierce s buried body was reportedly discovered last Wednesday, July 21, on a property along South Ridge Drive, south of Live Oak Park Road, belonging to Nicolas Burg, 29, according to the San Diego County Sheriff s Department.
Burg was arrested Friday in Murrieta on suspicion of murder and booked into the Vista Detention Facility, SDSO Lt. Thomas Seiver said.
The Medical Examiner s Office has conducted an autopsy but has not revealed Pierce s cause of death. His death was ruled a homicide and the SDSO Homicide Unit is still investigating the case.

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Authorities Wednesday released the name of a homicide victim whose body was found buried two weeks ago on a residential property in Fallbrook.
Deputies unearthed the remains of 56-year-old Robert Pierce on July 14 while investigating a suspicious circumstance in the 400 block of South Ridge Drive, according to sheriff s officials.
Two days later, the man who owns and lives on the property, Nicholas Andrew Burg, 29, was arrested in Murrieta on suspicion of killing the then- unidentified victim, Lt. Thomas Seiver said.
Last week, Burg pleaded not guilty to a murder charge and other criminal counts in the case. At the time, Pierce was still officially listed as a John Doe.

Sheriff’s investigators on Wednesday released the name of a 56-year-old man killed and found buried on a Fallbrook property two weeks ago.
Deputies discovered the body of Robert Berry Pierce, also known as Bobby Berry Pierce, while investigating “a suspicious circumstance” July 14. Authorities have been tight-lipped about the case and have not said how he died.
Nicholas Andrew Burg, 29, who lives on the South Ridge Drive property where Pierce was found, was charged in Vista Superior Court with murder and two auto theft-related counts. He pleaded not guilty last week.
A complaint alleges Pierce was killed July 12 or 13.
