North Georgia pitcher Kylee Smith, a first-team at-large selection, became the 19 th four-time NFCA All-American in Division II. Additionally, she is now in elite company with CSUN pitcher Debbie Dickman (1987-90), Ashland outfielder Sunny Litteral (1996-99) and Lock Haven pitcher Kristin Erb (2006-09) as the fourth Division II student-athlete to earn four first-team honors. Smith captured Peach Belt Pitcher of the Year accolades for the fourth straight season. She played an instrumental role in the NightHawks’ seventh straight PBC title and sixth berth into the national championship tournament. Missouri Western second baseman Sydni Hawkins was the lone unanimous first-team selection. By: Jordan Dafnis BETHANY, Oklahoma - Students at Southern Nazarene University are meeting with the president over a potential policy that would prevent student athletes from kneeling during the national anthem. The meeting starts at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Herrick Auditorium on campus. This all started after some of the women s soccer team knelt during the national anthem at a few home games. The women said it is a decision they made together. After school administrators learned the women were kneeling during the anthem at games, meetings with university administration were scheduled including with SNU President Keith Newman. Team members said the university s president asked the team not to kneel and mentioned a policy could be put in place preventing them from kneeling or protesting. ....

Students and student athletes created the petition after some of the women s soccer team knelt during the national anthem at two of their home games. Members of that team said they became concerned after several meetings with the university s president. There hasn t really been any other team that s kneeled but us, said SNU women s soccer team member Alejandra Andrade. Other members of the team told News 9 the first decision that started everything was made in unity. ....
