Construction is already underway for Mount Martha’s new footpath on Harrap Road. The footpath will be approximately 1.5km, running along the north side of the road starting at Dunns Road roundabout and linking to an existing path down Harrap Road. The path is being made with 1383 sqm of PolyRok. PolyRok is a recycled plastic product which is an alternative to mineral aggregate in concrete to minimise impacts on the environment. The Shire has secured $600,000 for this project under the Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Grant Program. The Shire’s Pedestrian Access Strategy aims to improve Peninsula pathways has identified Harrap Road as a key link in the Primary Pedestrian Network. ....

Delays, congestion not the way for roads to go MORNINGTON roads campaigner Ken McBride says members of the community would be “surprised and disappointed” to learn that there are no immediate plans to have Mornington-Tyabb Road widened and upgraded and even less chance of improving Bungower Road. Mornington-Tyabb Road – an arterial road – is managed by the Department of Transport while Bungower Road is managed by Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. Both are busy at all times of the day and especially in peak periods.
