(WAFB) - The LSU Tigers got off to a great start in the NCAA Championships Semifinal II round between Oklahoma, Utah and Alabama. LSU led after the first two rotations at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas. LSU started the meet out on the floor where they finished the regular season ranked No. 2. They scored a lights out 49.500 on floor. Christian Desiderio got things started with a 9.90. Alyona Shchennikova followed with a 9.8875 and Sierra Ballard and Sarah Edwards went 9.90. While there might be a battle over the second spot, the top seed is supposed to glide through with minimal difficulty. “Supposed to” is doing a lot of work in that sentence. Instead, LSU found itself in dogfights on consecutive days simply to make it to nationals. The second day of the regional was intense that four of the top eight scores in the nation all occurred in Salt Lake City. Every team performed well enough to advance, and it was a cruel reality that only two could. ....
