The Rebs ventured into enemy territory for a three-game series that capped one of the most challenging stretches in the best college baseball conference in the country, and while the weekend ended with Ole Miss dropping two of three games to arch-rival Mississippi State, there were several positives to draw on in the series. The Rebels used a complete-game, one-hit shutout from Doug Nikhazy and a 17-hit deluge from the offense in a 9-0 victory. Nikhazy was brilliant from start to finish, going a full nine innings with no runs allowed on just one hit and two walks. The left-hander from Windermere, Florida, struck out 12 along the way to tie a career-high. Nikhazy didn’t allow his lone hit until the fifth inning and, at one point, retired 11 straight Bulldog batters. ....
