Woman seriously injured in crash ELLSWORTH A Stonington woman was airlifted to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center with serious injuries Sunday after her sport utility vehicle left the road and struck a tree head-on while traveling on Washington Junction Road in Hancock, Hancock County Sheriff’s Deputy Zach Allen reported. Courtney Moon, 23, was traveling east in a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe, Allen said. First responders had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate her from the SUV, according to police. Moon was listed in good condition Tuesday at EMMC, according to a hospital spokesperson. “The case is still under investigation,” Allen said. ....
Hancock County Sheriff Pickup truck gets struck on trail ELLSWORTH The Hancock County Regional Communications Center got a call for help from a woman in Sullivan reporting that she and her boyfriend had gotten their pickup truck stuck on the Donnell Pond Trail just after 11 p.m. on March 28. “They were over 3 miles in on the trail and there was no way for a wrecker to get to them,” said Deputy Jeff McFarland. “The Hancock RCC referred them to the Warden Service for assistance, as we were not able to get to them with a cruiser.” Arrests Deputy Dylan Hall arrested a Northeast Harbor woman after a traffic stop on the Bucksport Road in Ellsworth Saturday. Stacy Smith, 52, was arrested on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. ....
