Out of the three former provincial premiers, Supra Mahumapelo (North West), Ace Magashule (Free State) and David Mabuza (Mpumalanga), only Mabuza remains within the ranks of the party. Yesterday morning Magashule was locked out of a virtual NEC meeting following his suspension earlier in the week after the party started using the âstep asideâ rule. But a defiant Magashule told the media after he was locked out of the meeting, that he is still the secretary-general (SG) of the ANC, will hold meetings and will still campaign for the ANC. ....
Ramaphosa faction dividing Limpopo NEC hears ANC Limpopo provincial chairperson Stan Mathabatha has raised concern over president Cyril Ramaphosa’s faction dividing his province. In a leaked recording during Saturday’s national executive committee (NEC) meeting, Mathabatha said he had observed “comrades who run around purporting to be the defenders of our president”. “They are running and dividing the ANC, pursuing their personal and divisive agendas in the province. Comrade president, they are organising meetings in our province. If the president or the chair or top five permit, I can organise a meeting with the top five and mention those comrades by name and the meetings that they convene in my province where some of us were vilified in those meetings,” he said. ....

KZN MEC Ravi Pillay vows clamp down on construction mafia at launch of R4.5bn investment site Share Durban â KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs, Ravi Pillay has slammed the criminality of business forums who have stopped the construction of projects worth millions of rands in the province, declaring that provincial government would not tolerate the acts of âeconomic sabotageâ. Pillay made the comments at the construction of the first phase of a R4.5bn chemical manufacturing plant that is expected to create 800 construction jobs and 300 permanent jobs on the KZN north coast. On Thursday, Pillay officiated the launch of Nyanza Light Metals Centre and inspected the progress of the construction at the Richards Bay Industrial Development Zone (RBIDZ). ....
