FAIRFIELD, CT - At 4:33 A.M., Thursday, Feb. 11, the Emergency Communications Center received a report by a resident of a fire on the second floor at a three-family residence at 556 Black Rock Turnpike. The Fairfield Fire Department responded and arrived on scene within four minutes of notification. At the time of arrival, the exact location of the fire was unknown. During an interior search, firefighters located two small fires in separate locations, while residents awoken by the smoke detector’s alarm attempted to make contact with others still asleep in the multi-family residence. ....

Several city facilities reopen Monday after COVID-19 closures

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – With coronavirus case numbers declining across the community, the City of Clarksville will reopen recreation centers and some customer service facilities on Monday, Feb. 8.
Clarksville Gas & Water will reopen customer service center lobbies to the public on Monday, after closing them in mid-December because of a spike in COVID-19 cases in the community. Masking and social distancing orders remain in place.
Customer service center internal lobbies at 2015 Fort Campbell Blvd. and 2215 Madison St. will return to normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, for full service. This includes developer and contractor services, in-person customer payments and business transactions. Drive through window service will continue to be open during normal business hours. ....
