Almost 45 years after the gruesome murder of a 15-year-old girl and her unborn baby, Pennsylvania State Police say the suspected killer has been arrested. Luis Sierra, 63, is accused of murdering his then-girlfriend Evelyn Colon in 1976. The decades-old cold case quickly gained footing in 2020 when a DNA match helped police identify the pregnant teenager previously known only as “Beth Doe.” Sierra was arrested in New York on March 31 and transferred to Carbon County Correctional Facility Tuesday. He faces one count of homicide, but police said they are exploring what additional charges may be applicable. “In 1976, laws were different,” said district attorney Michael Greek during a press conference Wednesday. “They didn t provide for a homicide of an unborn child.” ....
