Sharon Anne (Gearhart) Fernandez was born Dec. 7, 1977, and left this earth surrounded in love by family Sunday, April 4, 2021. Heaven welcomes this very special angel after her extraordinary battle with metastatic breast cancer. She loved and lived her life to the fullest. She leaves her family, extended family and many friends who love her and will miss her dearly. Shari grew up in the rolling hills of Palouse and completed her undergrad degree at WSU and her masterâs degree at Boise State. She experienced success through her career in grant writing, fundraising and event planning. She attended Leadership Boise and was named a â2013 Boise Women of the Year Honoreeâ by the Idaho Business Review. ....
Boise Metro Chamber names new board officers By: IBR Staff March 4, 2021 Comments Off on Boise Metro Chamber names new board officers Charlene Maher Tom Mortell Thomas Mortell, partner at Hawley Troxell, is the new 2021 chairman of the board of directors for the Boise Metro Chamber. Mortell replaces Charlene Maher , president and CEO of Blue Cross of Idaho, who will stay on as immediate past chair. The Chamber also announced the selection of Joel Poppen, senior vice president of legal affairs and general counsel at Micron Technology as the chair-elect of the Board. Poppen will take over as chair in 2022. Mortell is the head of Hawley Troxell’s health law group and has experience in construction-related litigation. He also is the head of the firm’s board of partners and has spent the last 20 years representing Idaho’s businesses.
