KINGSTON, R.I. – May 14, 2021 – David Martirano 91, a partner at a Boston-based venture capital firm, has made a gift of $500,000 for financial aid and athletics at the University of Rhode Island. Half of the gift will create scholarships in the College of Business, and the other half will help to fund a basketball practice facility for the men s and women s Division I teams. The $250,000 designated for scholarships will create two endowed funds. The first will support a student from an underrepresented population, and the second, titled the Class of 91 AMIGO OPEN Business Scholarship, honors Martirano s friends and peers from his graduating class.
