Current contributors are: The Wiegers Family Foundation, FirstBank of Vail, the Sarah & Ross Perot, Jr. Foundation, Doe Browning, the town of Vail, Michelle and Craig Taylor, Beth and Rod Slifer, the Keith & Carol Brown Family Foundation, Jill and David Mertens, and Micki and Morris Futernick. The chapel is in the first phase of a $7 million construction project. That first phase replacing the roof, the boilers, repaving the west parking lot and installing new windows on the north side is expected to wrap up June 18, leaving the rest of the summer open for events. ....
Expanded outdoor dining in Carbondale Carbondale’s Main Street between Third Street and Fourth Street will be closed to traffic from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through Oct. 15. The closures are intended to provide additional outdoor dining and commercial space for local restaurants to allow social distancing. The town of Carbondale also closed the street last year temporarily because of the pandemic. “We worked closely with downtown businesses to identify a plan that strikes a balance between short-term parking, closure times and days, and access to business along Main Street,” said Erika Sparhawk, town trustee involved in the direct outreach. “We continue to look for ways we can help businesses, and the street closure provides more room for restaurants to overflow seating.” ....

The change means the company will have four market presidents for the following areas: Denver, Summit County, Eagle County and the Roaring Fork Valley. Earlier this week, Chris Lankhorst was promoted to market president of the Summit County region. According to a news release, Lankhorst has been a top producer in Summit County and “has many years of leadership experience as the branch broker in the company’s Keystone and Breckenridge offices.” The real estate company has 33 offices, including five in Summit County. According to Slifer Smith & Frampton’s first real estate agent, Rod Slifer, the company has grown so much and covers such a wide berth that it needs more focused leadership. ....
Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate, a boutique brokerage specializing in vacation homes throughout Colorado’s mountain resort towns, is now branching out into the Denver market with a new office. The brokerage, which currently has over 250 agents and 100 support staff serving the Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge and Keystone communities, has previously managed sales in the city through its parent company, East West Partners. The latest move, which includes a downtown office and plans to hire at least 10 new brokers this year, is an effort to expand its presence in the city.
