Editor s note: This March 15 letter was sent by developers Michael Kane and Ralph Cox of Redgate/Kane, the city of Portsmouth s partner on the McIntyre redevelopment project, to City Councilor Peter Whelan, chair of the council s McIntyre Subcommittee.
Dear Peter:
This letter follows up on the attached email Ralph Cox and I sent to you on February 16, 2021, and my subsequent conversations with you in which I expressed concerns about the sketches resulting from the Portsmouth Listens McIntyre public space dialogue.
It has been one month since we sent our email. Since then, although we have had no response to our email, we have a seen a publicly released “City schedule” that calls for the City to “commence negotiations with the Redgate/Kane team, discussing new sketches” on April 14, 2021 and contains an “NPS Submission Date” of May 30, 2021.
