In a move that has been anticipated for a while, Unesco, citing years of development for an “irreversible loss” to the historic value of its Victorian docks have removed Liverpool s waterfront of its World Heritage Site status. Following a secret ballot
at the latest session of the World Heritage Committee China today, the heritage body declared that the “outstanding universal value” of Liverpool s Maritime Mercantile City has been irrevocably compromised by new construction, including plans for Everton s new 52,000-seater stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock.

Everton have completed the signing of goalkeeper Asmir Begovic from Bournemouth on an initial one-year deal.
The 34-year-old arrives for an undisclosed fee from Championship side Bournemouth, becoming Everton s second summer signing after the arrival of Andros Townsend earlier on Tuesday.
The former Stoke and Chelsea keeper has signed a 12-month contract, with the club holding the option to extend it for an additional year.

So Rafa knows he is unwelcome. He doesn t care. Why? He doesn t need the money, so rule that out. Why? Something, deep inside him thinks that he can do something for our club. He has, somehow, convinced Mr Moshiri that he is the man. He is set up to fail, he will not have one minute s peace. He has not got one bit of leeway. He is fucked from day one.
