Scheduling issues at Spokane Arena send man elsewhere in search of vaccine for disabled wife

SPOKANE, Wash. Things are about to change at the Spokane Arena’s mass vaccination site. Right now, it’s run by CHAS Health. Starting March 1, the State Department of Health will take over. 
With demand outweighing supply, getting an appointment has been hard to come by. That’s true whether you’re trying to get one at the Spokane Arena, or from your provider. 
One Spokane man had trouble getting a shot for his disabled wife, who’s confined to a bed and can’t walk. 
Michael Stone tried to get an appointment through CHAS twice. Each time, he was hit with an error message. With the frustration growing, he started looking everywhere for a shot.  ....

Age 71 of Coal City, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
Born October 2, 1949 in Kankakee, Donna Kay was a daughter of Donald Joseph and Delores Irene (Bertino) Vacca. She was raised and educated in Coal City and graduated from Coal City High School with the Class of 1967. Donna worked at First National Bank of Joliet for many years as a secretary. She then worked as a clerk at the Exelon Production Training Center, in addition to working at Don’s Beer Store in Coal City.
Donna was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Coal City, and loved to travel all over the county and internationally. She enjoyed playing card games and dominoes, and loved her cats and cat memorabilia. Most of all, Donna loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. ....
