Have you ever found yourself grabbing drinks with a friend but wishing to try something different than your typical order? Sometimes, people find themselves stuck in a pattern of always getting the same thing no matter where they visit. Luckily there s no shortage of interesting, unique, and slightly odd drinks around Music City to entice you to try something new.
Here are some of the most unique cocktails around Nashville.
Singapore Sling at Chopper
According to
Narcity, Chopper serves up its cocktails in unique tiki glasses and occasionally a hollowed-out pineapple. To add some fun, and bit of danger, some drinks even arrive at guests tables on fire (intentionally, of course). The gin-based Singapore Sling has pineapple, citrus fruits, Cherry Amaro, and sakura blossoms.
There s big buzz around the opening of Fifth + Broadway and its new Assembly Food Hall downtown.
So I assembled the Tennessean Taste Team myself, editor Gary Estwick, photographer George Walker IV and reporter Cole Villena to rank the eight food hall spots that are open. (Eventually, there will be more than 20 places in the hall.)
Those eight are, in alphabetical order, Cotton & Snow (cotton candy and shaved ice), DeSano Pizza, Donut Distillery, NoBaked Cooke Dough, Oke Poke, Smokin Chikin, Thai Esane and Whisk Crepes Cafe.
The team rated each place 1 - 10 (with only one verbal brawl breaking out) to come up with our completely subjective, amateur ranking.
Eight restaurants opened Thursday at Fifth + Broadway s massive food hall downtown, and the remaining 12 eateries will open throughout the spring and summer.
While most of the newly opened restaurants are local favorites, three are making their debut in Nashville. To help you decide what to try first, we asked staff at each of the new restaurants for their recommendations.
Assembly Food Hall is adhering to Nashville s Phase 3 COVID-19 safety guidelines. Mask wearing and social distancing are required when moving around the food hall, and capacity is capped at 50 percent with a maximum of eight people per table.

Assembly Food Hall
Officials with the soon-to-open Assembly Food Hall at Fifth + Broadway have announced its phase one opening will be next Thursday. Phase two will open in May, according to a release.
The food hall is one of the anchors of the downtown-based mixed-use development, which also houses the headquarters-to-be of Alliance Bernstein and the 381-unit The Place residential tower and the National Museum for African American Music. The expansive multi-level dining and entertainment facility will feature more than 25 eateries, multiple bars, two full-service restaurants, live music venues and a rooftop space overlooking Broadway.
Phase one eateries include Cotton & Snow, DeSano Pizzeria, Donut Distillery, NoBaked Cookie Dough, Oke Poké, Smokin Chikin, Thai Esane and Whisk Crepes Café. Also to open are a wine bar offering more than 40 wine choices and a bar serving more than 32 local and national craft beers on draft.

The giant Fifth + Broadway complex across from Bridgestone Arena has been under construction for seemingly an eternity, since they tore down the old Convention Center and unveiled plans for a new multi-purpose facility. Originally slated for a Fall 2020 opening, the COVID-19 pandemic pushed that back, but there IS a light at the end of the tunnel, and most of the complex will open on March 4th.
So what exactly is Fifth + Broadway? Well, it s sure to be somewhere that you see a ton of tourism. And it also might be where you hang out before or after shows at Bridgestone or the Ryman.
